She Ain't Easy to Forget
Old brick walls and candlelight
Wine bar on a Tuesday night
She walked in like she owned the air
Didn't even know it
That smile hit the room before she did
Warm and easy, nothing to it
The kind you can't manufacture
Lord knows I've seen 'em try
She ain't easy to forget The kind of woman that you don't get Very often, maybe once If the good Lord's feeling generous Comfortable in her own skin Lights up every room she's in Without even trying yet She ain't easy to forget
We got to talking over Cabernet She knew every word to what the speakers played Laughed like nothing in this world could touch her And nothing could Up close you see it in her eyes What the years put there Not the miles, just the grace Of a woman who knows
She ain't easy to forget The kind of woman that you don't get Very often, maybe once If the good Lord's feeling generous Comfortable in her own skin Lights up every room she's in Without even trying yet She ain't easy to forget
Some women chase it their whole lives
She just woke up with it one day
God was showing off the morning
He made her that way
She ain't easy to forget The kind of woman that you don't get Very often, maybe once If the good Lord's feeling generous Comfortable in her own skin Lights up every room she's in Without even trying yet She ain't easy to forget No she ain't easy to forget
Liner Notes
On St. Francis street in Mobile, Alabama, is a small, out of the way wine bar named Firehouse Wine Bar. I took the lovely and talented Kathy there one night when we were back home for a visit. This song takes place in that wine bar in my mind. It's such a beautiful place and it's beauty really framed the lovely and talented Kathy that night.
I'm not sure why this place stuck with me, but it did.
